“I’ve always loved to read,” said Hope. “I feel like reading is the best way to learn empathy and kindness, because you walk a day in the shoes of others. You get to understand how different people’s minds work, you understand that everyone is different, that their lives are different, and you can empathise with them for the way that they’re navigating the world.

“I truly believe that every one of us deserves that space to get lost in a book. There’s no better feeling than being so excited to get back into the book that you’re loving, racing to get to the end and then being quite annoyed that you’ve finished it, because you miss it. I think making time for that is so important.”
