As the conversation continued, Willis talked about how the birth of her first child gave her a newfound sense of confidence. “If I can raise a child, I don’t need to worry about needing an autocue,” she reflected.

And the greatest lesson she’s learned over the years?

“I would probably say: ‘Just go for it,’” she said. “Trust your gut. I used to worry that people would think I was doing too much and trying to be something I’m not, but we only have one life, so try it all. I see people say: ‘I still haven’t found what I want to do,’ and I’m watching my kids struggle to pick their GCSEs and I’m just like, ‘It’s all right; it doesn’t matter.’”

“Don’t put too much pressure on yourself,” she concluded. “Failing is not failing; it’s just trying. And if it doesn’t work, you can try again or try something else. So live your life, do whatever you want and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it.”
