She’s The Man (2006)

You may not remember She’s The Man as a sports movie, but football is key to the plot of this teen flick. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, She’s The Man follows Viola, a passionate football player, who disguises herself as her twin brother after the women’s football team at her school is cancelled. Most of this film is goofy romantic antics between Amanda Bynes and a very toned Channing Tatum, but at its heart, it’s a story about a girl who is willing to go to extreme lengths to prove that, yes, women’s football does actually matter.
