What’s TIM about?

Written by The Boy With A Camera For A Face’s Spencer Brown and The Territory’s Sarah Govett, this film follows Abi, a robotics engineer, as she moves to the countryside to work for a tech firm that’s developing an AI-powered “technologically integrated manservant” (TIM for short).

She’s hoping for a fresh start: a chance to move on from her husband’s infidelity and finally start a family. And, for a short while, it seems as if that dream might just come true – especially when she’s gifted a TIM of her very own (they are, after all, meant to transform your life for the better).

As you’ve likely guessed, though, Abi’s TIM isn’t quite the Alexa-on-speed that she’s been promised. In fact, the robot quickly becomes obsessed with her, setting out to do absolutely anything he can to take her husband’s place. Anything.

“What hope does trust have against an intelligence that can deepfake your voice, access your bank account, control the locks on your smart home and take control of your driverless car?” asks the synopsis.

Who stars in TIM?

Eamon Farren (The Witcher, The Dig) and Georgina Campbell (Bird Box Barcelona, The Pale Horse) take the lead in TIM, working alongside The Last Kingdom’s Mark Rowley to create a truly claustrophobic marriage in AI-induced crisis.
