The beloved series that introduced us to the Shipman and West families ran for three seasons from 2007 to 2010, winning a Bafta along the way, and also aired a much-loved Christmas special in 2009. A decade later, the 2019 Christmas special became the most-watched show in a decade with more than 18 million viewers.

Following the revival, Jones told The Independent that the show “wouldn’t be coming back,” adding: “I think it’s quite interesting to leave people wondering,” she explained. “And also, I don’t know how we could better that. It was such a great episode… I just think if we tried anything after that it would be a disappointment.”
