If you’re in the market for a new true crime series (and, let’s face it, who isn’t?), then you’ll want to check out Channel 4’s Imposter: The Man Who Came Back From The Dead. Because, despite its admittedly sprawling title, the four-part documentary promises to spin a tight yarn that truly is stranger than fiction.

As per the official synopsis, it tells the story of a man named Arthur Knight, who awakened from a Covid coma in a Glasgow hospital – something which, under different circumstances, would have been a cause for celebration.

Instead, though, the “bookish nice guy” was identified by police as Nicholas Rossi in disguise, a “sexually aggressive narcissist” and one of America’s most wanted criminals. The very same Nicholas Rossi who had, according to his family, died on 29 February 2020 (despite the fact they didn’t have a single copy of his death certificate to hand).
