What’s the Legally Blonde prequel about?

In a post on Instagram Witherspoon said:

Hello Sunshine, her production company, is leading the charge on the show, so you know it’s going to be in good hands. And in even better news: they have tapped Gossip Girl and The O.C. vets Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage as writers, giving us the teen drama crossover of our dreams.

The series will be set years before the first movie, and Witherspoon has said: “Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do.”

As a reminder, the classic movie followed Elle (played to pink perfection by Witherspoon), who is accepted to Harvard Law School to try to win back her ex, Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis), who dumped her for not being serious enough for his future. It turns out she has a natural aptitude for the subject, slowly winning over her doubters, and gaining a new love interest in Emmett (Luke Wilson).
