What is Pachinko season 2 about?

We don’t yet know many details, but many threads were left untied in season one, so there’s still plenty left to cover from the bestselling novel.

Pachinko’s first season follows Sunja, a young Korean woman who leaves her family to travel to safety in Osaka, Japan. With a script performed in Korean, Japanese and English, the series jumps between eras, from a Korean island in 1915 to Wall Street in the 1980s (this is in contrast to the novel, which is told chronologically).

We see the impact of the Second World War, the allied occupation of Japan and the Korean war through the prism of one family. It manages to be both intimate and epic in its vision and I can’t wait to see what else we learn about Sunja in season two.
