Shiv’s gender has been used against her before, whether it’s Logan’s hangers-on suggesting that she’s not the right fit for CEO or being landed with the job of clearing up Waystar’s reputation in the wake of the #MeToo-referencing cruise controversy in a textbook example of gender-washing. But never has it seemed like such an obstacle, a grim reminder that massive wealth can’t cushion you from the patriarchy forever.

But from everything we’ve seen from Shiv over the course of three seasons and counting, we know that she never backs down without a fight (and her pregnancy is unlikely to change that).
