Those are just a few of my favourite quotes from Such Brave Girls.

The series, written by and starring Kat Sadler, was one of my favourite shows of 2023, so I’m thrilled the BBC has just announced that the show will be returning for more horribly twisted, stomach-hurtingly brilliant moments of comedy. And it’s not just the BBC and I that are fans, the six-part comedy also won the Best Scripted Comedy at the Bafta TV Awards 2024.

It has echoes of Nighty Night (Julia Davis’ brilliantly dark 2004 sitcom) and Fleabag as it follows three damaged narcissists – sisters Josie (Kat Sadler) and Billie (Lizzie Davidson) and their single mother Deb (Louise Brealey) – as they attempt to navigate their way through life. And it’s fearless in tackling everything, including abortion, suicidal thoughts, sexuality, toxic relationships, mental health, self-harm and sex.
