She dressed Princess Diana, Marianne Faithfull and even Beatle Ringo Starr – and now iconic London designer Caroline Charles is celebrating 50 years in the business with a beautiful retrospective coffee table book.
A member of the original swinging sixties set during London’s ‘youthquake’, Caroline created her first collection in 1963 in a Chelsea attic, and launched it with a fashion shoot of six girls posing on a navy ship in Portsmouth Harbour. Showing her journey from hip London designer to a global brand showing at London Fashion Week, it’s a fascinating look at the evolution of a very British brand, and London style - and we've got a preview of the book to show you. Look back at her remarkable career in the gallery below.
