Alexa Chung has launched her first handbag as part of Amex’s Shop Small initiative.

There are few celebrities that we look to for a sartorial cue quite as much as Alexa Chung. We loved her Archive collection for M&S, and were first in line when she launched her own fashion brand, so we’re brimming with excitement about the launch of her first bag – which will be available to buy online from tomorrow (15 November).

With a super affordable price tag of just £25, the gingham tote – complete with Chung’s signature “A” logo – is launching in support of the annual initiative Amex Shop Small.

“Supporting small independent businesses has always been important to me because it was how I was brought up – shopping at the local Hampshire butcher or the village shop,” says Chung. “Now that I’m an adult with a business of my own I am acutely aware of how hard it can be to get something up and running.”

“This is the first bag we have created as a brand and I wanted it to reflect our goals as a company: to make things that are fun, timeless, quirky but easy and cool. The gingham is a colourway we had applied to one of my favourite dresses in our second collection and I love it because it’s classic but fresh and the mini sizing is an interesting play with proportion.”

Alexa’s gingham tote will be available to buy from tomorrow (15 November) on, and the launch will precede 2017’s official Small Business Saturday on December 2.
