Meghan Markle’s go-to brand just got a new muse.
And, as it turns out, it was something very big indeed: today it has been confirmed that Ariana Grande is the new face of French fashion house, Givenchy.
In a statement from Givenchy, the brand describes their new ambassador as a strong, independent woman of refreshing character and style. Finishing with the confirmation that the ‘multi-talented’ Ariana Grande, thanks to her impertinence, generosity and a lightning wit – all cloaked in a touch of mystery – will be the house’s modern muse.
Ariana, who recently was the youngest person to headline Coachella, has said of her latest role: “I am so proud to be the new face of Givenchy. It is a House I have forever admired and to now be part of that family is such an honour. I love this clothing and the confidence and joy it brings to the people wearing it. No only is the clothing timeless and beautiful but I’m proud to work with a brand that makes people feel celebrated for who they are, and unapologetic about whatever they want to be.”
Givenchy’s Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller, has very much been in spotlight since taking over from brand’s former master, Riccardo Tisci, as she is of course the designer behind Meghan Markle’s wedding dress.
The Duchess of Sussex has gone on to wear Givenchy for many of her biggest occasion, including her surprise appearance at The British Fashion Awards in December to celebrate Clare Waight Keller’s win as ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’.
Previous faces of Givenchy have included titans of style: the OG Givenchy girl, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly. And whilst Ariana Grande brings a new refreshed take on style and identity, she certainly has some auspicious shoes to fill.
Your move, #Arivenchy.
