The British artist has launched her first jewellery collection, collaborating with her longtime friend, designer Stephen Webster. Tracey shares her favourite pieces exclusively with Stylist…
Her most famous piece – My Bed – sold in 2014 for £2.5million but you don’t need a trust fund to invest in one of Tracey Emin’s latest works. The 52-year-old has teamed up with jewellery designer Stephen Webster to create a 50-piece collection entitled I Promise To Love You, inspired by Emin’s neon graffiti art and her sketches of woodland animals.
See Tracey's favourite pieces from the collection in the gallery below
1. Charm, £400
“I chose the woodland creatures as I wanted to work with the idea of English animals. My ancestors were forest gypsies and I wanted to use this as inspiration.”
2. Love bracelet, £1,400
“For me jewellery is not just decorative, it has meaning and significance. The ‘Love’ bracelet is the perfect example of that.”
3. With You I Breathe necklace, £2,100
“The words in this collection are very important and some of them are very romantic and passionate. They are like a mantra that goes around in my head.”
4. More Passion cuff, £4,150
“It’s really strange but this was the piece that I disliked the most at the beginning – I thought it was too flash. Now it’s the thing I like the best.”
5. Ring, £11,700
“This ring is engraved with the same words [‘I promise to love you’] as the neon artwork I gave Stephen for his store in Beverly Hills. It represents both of our worlds.”
Ten pieces from the I Promise To Love You collection will be available exclusively on net-a-porter.com from 20 January. The full collection will be in Stephen Webster stores from 10 February; stephenwebster.com
