Ashley Graham uses completely unedited photos in the campaign for her latest swimwear collection
With warm weather on the horizon (probably just jinxed that) and impending sun-soaked holidays comes the all-too-common anxieties of feeling confident in your swimwear. It is an angst almost every woman has faced and truth be told, we are done with it. As is Ashley Graham.
Supermodel (superbabe) and body-positivity activist Graham has been pioneering the movement towards body inclusivity for some time, making huge strides in the fashion industry by walking runways such as Michael Kors and gracing the cover of US Vogue. Now Graham has launched her latest swimwear collection for Swimsuits For All – a size-inclusive retailer – with totally untouched and unedited paparazzi images of herself.
The collection, aptly named ‘Power of Paparazzi’, sees the model take on her new nine-piece collection inspired by Twenties art deco designs wiht her trademark confidence and style. “When shooting this campaign in Miami, the paparazzi began following us and taking pictures,” Graham told InStyle.com.
“Looking at their photos sparked an idea, ‘Why not use their photos as the campaign images?’ These raw and unedited images would remind women that they are ‘flawless’ in their own right and that they already have the perfect beach body! Of course it’s daunting knowing the paparazzi may have captured an unflattering photo,” Graham continues. “But I remind myself that being authentic is beautiful, and I have nothing to hide when it comes to my body because I know it’s changing people’s lives.”
The collection ranges from size 8-26 and is available to shop here.
