A monochrome suit with a tie, fingerless gloves, sunglasses and a signature white ponytail - this is the outfit of Barbie Lagerfeld, the doll birthed from a collaboration between Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld and Mattel.

The exclusive new doll will go on sale from 29 september during Paris Fashion Week in select Karl Lagerfeld stores, at Colette in Paris and online at thebarbiecollection.com and Net-a-Porter.

No surprise it's doll for serious collectors. Only 999 dolls will be produced, each priced at approximately £160 (€200).

Women's Wear Daily reported the unique Barbie carefully replicates Lagerfeld's iconic style, wearing jeans which "glisten with the jacquard print of the designer’s cameo, while the tailored black jacket has a twill texture, skinny sleeves and glossy lapels".

The doll also wears a white high-collared men’s shirt with French cuffs and a chic black satin cravat.
