The brand features Barbie, along with three other models of varying sizes, in the latest installment of their #AerieReal campaign.
Launched two years ago to celebrate women of all sizes, #AerieReal images are never retouched or Photoshopped.
"We cast Barbie because she’s got nothing to hide, she’s strong and beautiful she embraces her real self, which is the spirit of the Aerie Real message," global brand president Jen Foyle told Refinery29.com.
Barbie, who is a size 16 and has previously spoken out about how damaging the phrase "plus size models" can be, describes herself as a curvy model.
In the latest advert the 18-year-old models a hot pink bikini by Aerie and says, "I am unapologetically myself, no matter what anyone's opinion of me is. The world needs more women who are so strong."
