Cinderella's glass slippers have been brought to life by nine top shoe designers and will be sold in luxury stores very soon.

Disney has teamed up with nine of the world's top shoe brands, from Jimmy Choo to Salvatore Ferragamo, to give the famous heels a modern makeover and the results are spectacular based on newly released illustrations of the designs.

The collaboration celebrates the upcoming live-action remake of Cinderella starring Downton Abbey's Lily James in the title role and Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother.

From a Perspex boot to Swarovski-embellished sandals, each designer has put their own high-fashion and creative spin on the fictional shoe.

"I think every girl desires a Cinderella moment in their lives," says Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo.

"This story ignites a love affair and fascination with shoes that never dies. The power they have to transform is instilled from a young age and the fantasy remains alive forever. I wanted to create a shoe that felt magical, with alluring sparkle and a feminine, timeless silhouette evoking those childhood emotions."

The shoes will be available to order in shops around the world, including Harrods in London, Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Beverly Hills, and Galeries Lafayette in Paris.

Take a look at the high-fashion glass slippers below. While they're quite different from the original pair Cinders wore in the 1950 animated film, there's still plenty of sparkle and shine in these modern day designs...
