From 90s indie teen to doyenne of the red carpet, Claire Danes' style evolution

Many of us feel like we've grown up with Claire Danes.
She was there with us in the throes of teenage angst for My So-Called Life, and we cried for her and Leo in the seminal 90s re-make of Romeo & Juliet (we also shed tears over her heart-wrenching portrayal of Beth in 1994's Little Women).
While she enjoyed a stream of film roles throughout the Noughties, it wasn't until 2011 when she seized the public's imagination once again as the finely observed and fragile-but-tough Carrie Mathison in hit series Homeland.
Claire's fashion evolution has mirrored the trajectory of her career, with the actress effortlessly moving from indie chic 90s - think funky hair and halter tops - to the classic and flattering silhouettes she favours today, aged 35.
With a host of awards to her name, it's unsurprising that designers from Calvin Klein and Nina Ricci to the late Oscar de la Renta have clamoured to dress this supremely talented Hollywood star, whose style just gets better and better. Come take a look at how Claire Danes' fashion has changed, from the early 90s to now:
