Why do you think it’s so important to pass clothes on to a new home and extend their lifespan?

I have learned so much, and also I want to big up my lovely friend Venetia La Manna and Aja Barber. They are two sustainability conversationalists who have educated me so much on what it means to preserve your clothes. I think I’ve always grown up like that anyway because I was never really a massive fan of fast fashion, not to say that I don’t have it. Listen, I’ve still got an Asos jacket that I’ve had for about seven or eight years. But I’ve really been educated about making smarter choices when it comes to clothing, whether that’s buying on Depop or otherwise. I’ve got a 13-year-old niece and that’s where she gets all of her clothes from.

It’s important to pass clothes on, and also I think clothes have such a lovely history. I like getting something and going, “I wonder who this belonged to first” or “I wonder where this jacket has been.” I’ve got old Levi’s and jean jackets and jean shorts that I bought from charity shops, so who knows where they were before, you know? I’m obsessed with band T-shirts. I love finding vintage 90s or 00s R&B T-shirts, I love old gig T-shirts and stuff. I remember I bid for this Prince T-shirt online and it’s one of my prized possessions. I think it’s 30 years old, and I got it from a Prince megafan, and I’ll never let it go. I’m sure it’s lived a thousand lives.

Where do you want some of these pieces, like your Vivienne Westwood dress, to go?

When you get the stock, please tag me in your pictures. I want to see it at raves, at house parties, at the club or in your kitchen. I want to see it having a night in or out – whatever, man. Just tag me. And remember, all the proceeds are going to Choose Love so you’ll be shopping with a pure purpose, pure love.

What are your tips for shopping secondhand? Where do you go? What do you look for?

I am a Depop girl. My tips: get really specific with the things that you’re searching for, like every little detail because, trust me, you might think, “I really want like a blue polka dot shirt with yellow accents – that’s not going to be anywhere.” But just type it in. You’ll be surprised – it will probably turn up.

I always say be patient. You don’t have to get something the minute it comes out because, in a couple of months, it’ll probably end up on Depop.

I’m also very much about not following fashion trends – follow the style that suits you.
