It’s time to welcome the Western boot back in to your wardrobe.
There are certain celebrities that started their love for the Western style boot pretty early on.
Yes, you may be thinking Dolly Parton in a floral print pair, but we’re talking more about Britney Spears circa 2001 where she donned them with almost every double denim ensemble she wore. And that’s not forgetting Victoria Beckham. Oh yes, back in 2003, the Queen of fashion loved a pair of knee-high cowgirl boots with denim cut off shorts.
Fast-forward to 2018, and they’re back at the fore of our new season wardrobe. Spotted all over the autumn-winter catwalks: at Isabel Marant they came in all boot lengths from over-the-knee to ankle; at Dolce and Gabbana it’s all about glitter iterations; Fendi went colour-block and cut-out. Take a look below:

They’re the hottest footwear, to erm, boot this season, but how do you actually style them? From midi skirts to jeans, these are the ways to wear now, and forever.
Pair with a midi skirt
The midi skirt is bound to be one your favourite fashion pieces this season, because let’s face it, now the chill has well and truly set in our skirts head further south for winter.
The midi is the perfect length to team with a knee high boot, and the style set have already made the cowgirl a clear leader in the boot race. Go for a coloured pair and they’ll be guaranteed to brighten up the most dreariest of days.
Flash underneath a trench
The trench coat is a classic you’ll never let go off, but having to add a coat of any kind over your outfit can sometimes kill your vibe. This is where the Western boot comes in.
It’s a way to take your trench straight in to 2018, and, better still, this is an acceptable look to wear over jeans. We’re not thinking baggy jeans and knee highs like we would have once worn, oh no, stick to the rule of calf or ankle length and you can’t go wrong.
Team with tailoring
A lot of the most stylish women out there have been creating a cool clash between sleek tailored blazers, and the kooky cowgirl boot - and it’s the new formula we’re sticking to.
Wear ankle length with a shorter dress (yes, they go with tights) so you’ll be able to layer up in the daytime and still keep the style points. For night, wear your new fail-safe ankle boots with a sequin dress for a combo that’ll see you through party season.
