Detox your wardrobe

Published

If you resolved that 2011 would be the year you reduce, reuse and recycle, there’s no better place to start than your wardrobe.

We’re all guilty of keeping clothes which we no longer wear - be it your favourite denim mini from 10 year ago or those ‘bargain’ one-size-too-small Louboutins which you bought in the sale. Thanks to a new campaign from Cancer Research UK (backed by previous Stylist columnist Dawn Porter and X Factor's Konnie Huq), now is the time to admit that these items are never going to see the light of day as long as they’re buried in the back of your wardrobe under 25 pairs of shoes.

Rather than banishing these pre-loved items to the bin, why not put them to good use by donating to a Cancer Research UK shop where they can be sold on to another loving home? Not only will you be de-cluttering, you’ll also be helping to raise money to fund the charity’s lifesaving research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Win win.

To donate clothing, accessories, quality homeware, books, CDs and DVDs simply hand in your donation bags to one of the 600 Cancer Research UK shops nationwide. To find your nearest store visit cancerresearchuk.org/shopping.
