Mountain restaurant on Beak street was recently awarded a Michelin star and is widely regarded as one of the hottest restaurants in London right now. There’s an excellent wine list, Vermouth on tap and a menu of Spanish dishes made from Welsh ingredients (chef Tomos Parry is a North Wales native).

At the intimate restaurant Rita’s, presentation is everything. The sociable sharing plates and excellent cocktails make it a failsafe choice for an intimate dinner or a fun, easygoing evening with friends. The newest restaurant in Carnaby’s Kingly Court, Donia offers flavour-packed modern Filipino sharing plates. If it’s Thai food you’re after you won’t do better than Kiln on Brewer street and for Middle Eastern fare The Palomar is as sought-after now as it was when it opened. A mix of bar tables up front and larger tables at the back mean it’s always buzzing and full of atmosphere. Menu highlights include the exceptional breads and small plates of falafel, tahini and sesame chicken schnitzel, as well as creamy cheesy truffle polenta, octopus, lamb-shoulder and rib eye steak cooked over fire. Meanwhile the cocktails – from the Picante to the Paloma Palomar – are as excellent as you would expect.
