Earlier this year, Eva Longoria tied the knot with José Baston in an intimate ceremony at their home in Mexico, with only close family and friends present.
The 41-year-old, in a bid to find the perfect dress for her big day, turned to her best friend Victoria Beckham for help.
And it was at that point that the fashion designer stepped in to go above and beyond for Eva, working around the clock to create the couture wedding dress of her dreams.
Better still, Victoria managed to keep her involvement in her friend’s gown completely secret from the press – which is no small feat, considering that the designer is usually followed by an army of paparazzi.
Speaking to People magazine, Eva said: “I went to her London studio twice - I thought for sure someone was going to see me.”
The Desperate Housewives praised her friend for taking the project so seriously, revealing that Victoria made sure that Eva was involved in every big design decision.
"Victoria took such care into making it. We had so much fun,” said Eva.
“She pulled out literally every dress she's ever made and was like, 'Do you like this top? That bottom? This material? That colour? That strap? That zipper?' And we just went through everything and she had, pulled so many different white fabrics: 'What about this one? What about that one?'"
As if that weren’t enough, Victoria also made sure that her friend had a couture outfit for her reception – and even supplied an outfit for the civil ceremony when Eva had a sudden change of heart as she was getting ready.
Admitting that she was originally going to wear a white trouser suit for the event, which took place on the eve of her nuptials, Eva fell upon a simple white dress that was hanging in her wardrobe.
She explained: “I was going to wear pants and then at the last minute I actually had a simple white dress in my closet, and I was like I’m just going to wear this!
“My assistant was like, It’s Victoria Beckham, and I’m like, Oh my gosh! She’s just a genius. I think she is just amazing.”
Inspired by her friend’s talent and work ethic, Eva is now following in Victoria’s fashionable footsteps.
That’s right; she’s creating her very own fashion line for The Limited – but, unlike so many celebrity collaborations, Eva has been taking a very hands-on approach.
In fact, she has ensured that she has been involved in every part of the design process, creating storyboards, sketching out designs, and choosing the colour palettes of her new clothing line – just like Victoria Beckham.
“She’s the ultimate example,” said Eva. “She’s a true designer. She’s lived and breathed fashion her entire life. She was born to do her line.”
