We've had jeggings and raw meat - and now there's "meggings"...

An Australian retail site has taken the concept of flesh-orientated fashion to a whole new level with the launch of its muscle leggings.

The graphic design shows the layout of bodily sinew in astonishing anatomical detail, complete with the fine lines of tendons and leg bones.

Whether anyone is brave enough to wear the leggings is another issue, but Black Milk Clothing, who dreamt up the idea, insist it's in demand.

"A few people encouraged me to do it but I never quite got around to it," creator James Lillis wrote. "Then I got a spare afternoon one day and decided to have a good go at making it work. It worked ... perhaps a little too well! Definitely our most 'meaty' design."

It's not the first time meat-inspired clobber has created a stir in the fashion world.

In September 2010, Lady Gaga had jaws on floors with the debut of her "meat dress," made from raw slabs of meat, at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Critics were divided at the time as to whether the design was an anti-fashion statement or a commentary on feminism or decay.
