What the Stylist editors are wearing on holiday this summer

If you’re struggling to know what to pack this summer holiday, Stylist’s editors have some ideas for you.
Every year it gets you. The holiday packing conundrum. How many outfits do you need to take? Is one pair of sandals enough, or do you need to take multiple pairs? Do you take that piece you love, just in case you might wear it, even though it’s highly likely it will never make it out of the suitcase?
Year after year you vow to make your life simpler, just pack the pieces you will wear and leave the stress behind, and it never quite works. This year take inspiration from the editor’s at Stylist and see which pieces they are packing, and swearing by, on holiday this year.
Emma Willis Linen Shirt
Emma Willis Linen Shirt Executive Fashion Director, Kitty McGee
’I’m living in linen shirts this summer. I love an oversized, boxy shape and often buy a couple of sizes up if I can’t find the right fit. My favourites are from H&M and Uniqlo, for work I wear them with jeans and on holiday I wear them with roomy linen shorts or trousers, or high waisted denim shorts. You can’t go wrong with white, blue, pink or beige, or white and blue striped. To accessorise I’ll add some dad sandals, either Arizona Love or Teva and some aviators.

Miu Miu Tortoiseshell Sunglasses
Sub Editor, Meena Alexander
’As someone who spends the majority of her holidays horizontal, I’m all about maximum enjoyment with minimal effort – so I want to pack items that are effortlessly cool. These Miu Miu sunglasses make me look put-together even if I’m just in a swimsuit and slides, and I can never resist the old-school glamour of a cat-eye. If it’s good enough for Naomi Campbell, it’s good enough for me.’

Ashley Williams Happy Crystal Hair Clips
Ashley Williams Happy Crystal Hair Clips Deputy Editor, Gemma Crisp
’I hate checking in luggage so always try to pack light and do carry-on only, so space is always at a premium. Which is why I’m loving the popularity of hair accessories this season as they’re such an easy way to dress up an otherwise casual holiday outfit. I’ve been obsessed with Ashley Williams’ versions since seeing them on the catwalk.’

Hermina Athens Hermis Turquoise Necklace
Fashion Assistant, Helen Atkin
’I tend to keep my holiday wardrobe relatively simple. Which means when a little bit of glam is required in the evening, jewellery is my go to accessory. Stacking necklaces are big trend right now, and one I’ve wholeheartedly bought into, so adding a little bit of colour to the gold necklaces I already wear with this turquoise coin necklace, gives my jewellery a holiday feel.’
