If there is a right way to wear a bra top under a denim jacket, then this is it.
The effortlessly chic Katie Holmes joined a host of other personalities (and Stylist) in Verona at the weekend to watch the hottest ticket in town: Intimissimi on Ice 2017.
Hosted annually by Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi (the brand is a high street favourite in Italy), the ice spectacular is hosted in Verona’s first-century Arena which, for two nights every October, is temporarily transformed into a giant in-the-round ice rink.
The result is Gladiator meets Dancing on Ice, with light lasers, acrobatics and operatics thrown in. In other words, not your average low-key night out.
This year’s show - called A Legend of Beauty, thanks to its celebration of Greek mythology’s most famous women, from Aphrodite to Helen of Troy - saw renowned Olympic skaters spin and salchow alongside a live orchestra and the spine-tingling vocals of Andrea Bocelli.
As evening descended, the people of Verona turned out in their droves to marvel at the amphitheatre action.
Joining Holmes at the show was Russian model Irina Shayk, entrepreneur Ella Mills and retired tennis player Ana Ivanovic, who – along with actress Dakota Johnson – are all ambassadors for Intimissimi’s Inside and Out campaign celebrating empowered women.
Italian influencer and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni was also present at the campaign. She designed the costumes for this year’s performers (past designers have included Patricia Field of Sex and the City fame).
Ferragni first found fame as The Blonde Salad blogger and now has almost 10 million followers on Instagram.
“For the costumes, I was inspired by legendary Greek women like Aphrodite, Daphne and Athena who stood out for their personality and values,” she said. “I look for inspiration everywhere: from Instagram, to art, books and the street.”
Tickets for the event go on sale every year - check out intimissimi.com for more info.
