Kim Kardashian has been robbed at gunpoint in her Paris home.

Five masked men posing as police officers gained entry to the 35-year-old's apartment early on Monday and reportedly tied her up and held a gun to her head before leaving her locked in her bathroom.

The gang stole jewellery worth almost £9 million and smartphones before apparently fleeing on motorbikes in the "highly organised" raid.

Kardashian's rep Ina Treciokas confirmed the incident in a statement to CNN and said that the star, who is staying in the city for Fashion Week, was "badly shaken but unharmed."

The robbers reportedly made their way up to Kardashian's residence after tying up a porter and leaving him in a cupboard in the luxury apartment block on Rue Tronchet.

Kardashian's children, North, three and Saint, nine months, were not involved in the raid.

Her husband Kanye West was in the middle of a gig at the Meadows Festival in New York when he heard the news and left his set mid-song, apologising to fans.

I'm sorry I have a family emergency, I have to stop the show.

-Kanye West

Fans who were recording him perform Heartless posted videos on Twitter of the moment the 39-year-old abruptly left the set:

Kardashian is believed to have jetted out of Paris on a private plane at the first opportunity in a state of "deep shock and fear," according to the Evening Standard.

Last week in Paris her bodyguard tackled a man to to the ground in the street after he put his mouth on her bum as she walked to a restaurant.

Police were pictured outside the residence on Monday and an official said the total amount of the valuables stolen "is still being evaluated.’
