The sun has come out to meddle with everyone’s best laid outfit plans but London Fashion Week street style is still a spectacle not to be missed.
Micro trends are emerging from the first days of the shows, with street stylers showing pastel shades dominate the colour wheel, there’s an insatiable appetite for bold suiting and how it’s possible to make animal print even more fierce…
Power pastels
A runway trend that’s truly taken off, pastels are no longer the preserve of wafty summer dresses. Hardy, head-to-toe outfits in rich rainbow hues are taking over the capital:
Co-ordinate with a pal for maximum impact
Lavender is still fashion’s favourite colour
Susie Bubble teams her layers of lilac with hot pink Kurt Geiger London Rita boots
Textured trenches
Vinyl, PVC, leather, patent…the humble trench has found its extra.
Patent works well in earth tones
Extra fashion points for the matching bag and socks
True tailoring
Be it loud Clueless-esque tartan, rust-coloured corduroy, neo mint flares or acid bright colour-blocking, suiting goes with everything.
Clueless vibes: Cher would be proud
Colour pop co-ord: Who says tailoring is boring?
Deconstructing the traditional suit
Neo mint moment
Extraordinary animal print
The high street is so saturated in animal print its almost lost its rebellious edge. How to claw it back? Go bigger and bolder than everyone else, or embrace the clash.

Mix and match for maximum impact
Architectural ankle boots
Our favourite footwear outside the shows came in the form of elegant yet inventive ankle boots:
Eyeing up her curves
Swoon
Perspex and fishnet add interest to these sleek black t-bars
Statement skirts
Flowing layers and delicate pleats paired with sturdy jackets and shoes make a refreshing alternative to jeans.
