3 surprising LFW SS15 designer-brand hook-ups

A host of exciting brand-artist collaborations have just emerged amid the creative buzz of London Fashion Week. Stella McCartney has teamed up with camera maestros Canon to create a new bag, Richard Nicoll has got together with women's sportswear brand Sweaty Betty for a catwalk-worthy range of exercise gear and US make-up giant Nars has joined up with Christopher Kane for a new range.

In an unlikely sponsored_longform, Richard Nicoll and Sweaty Betty teamed up for his London Fashion Week SS15 show, unveiling a 10-piece collection crafted from highly technical fabrics and prints inspired by Japanese patterns.

Kitty McGee, Stylist's Executive Fashion Editor, commented: "This collaboration cements sportswear as the runaway trend for spring/summer '15. The reflective touches give the line a strong sports edge, creating a collection that is innovative and artistic, functional and technical."

The Scottish designer has teamed up with Nars to create a SS15 capsule collection, though the range is being kept under lock and key and images have yet to be released ahead of a worldwide launch next May.

Samantha Flowers, Stylist's Beauty Editor, was backstage at Christopher Kane's show on Monday, where the new products were used on the models.

"Make-up artist Lucia Pieroni used The Multiple in Violet Atom - an iridescent lilac shade - washed across eyes for a modern, ethereal finish," she said. "With a meeting of such creative fashion and beauty minds you can be sure the range will be packed with a good collection of colours."

Echoing Chanel's union with Monster for its £4,170 headphones, Stella McCartney has teamed up with camera makers Canon to create a limited edition bag named in honour of her late mother Linda.

The camera-come-shoulder bag will be sold with the Canon EOS 100D White DSLR camera for £1,200 and will be available in Selfridges and Harrods in November.

The Linda adheres to McCartney's green credentials, using Eco Alter Nappa leather in cream and metal.

Sorrel Kinder, Stylist's Acting Beauty Director, said: "With the ongoing trend of small over-the-body small bags spotted at this season's shows and the popularity of street photographers, McCartney has tapped into a gap in the market for a chic, bright, design-led camera case that can double as an everyday handbag."
