Despite the fact I was hideously jetlagged when I went here and practically fell asleep at the table, the meal was one of the best I've had (crispy shrimp and mahi mahi tacos to start followed by sautéed snapper with lobster mash - yum!) Not just for fish lovers, the steak on the table next to me looked delish. Oh, and the bread basket; pretzel bread with honey and mustard butter? Worth going just for that. Heaven.

The Standard Grill (848 Washington Street)

A pretty obvious choice for Fashion Week but it really is the best people-watching spot. If you like your eggs Instagram-worthy then it's a must - my coffee came with a teddy bear stencilled in the foam and the salt and pepper pots come in the form of kissing dogs. Be warned, though, breakfast finishes at 11.30am and there are no eggs on the brunch menu.
