A leading Paris fashion houses decamping to New York Fashion Week was always going to be a big deal and Givenchy's show did not disappoint.
The one-off Stateside event - Givenchy's first outside of Paris in more than 60 years - was in honour of its new Madison Avenue store.
Held on the anniversary of 9/11, the show was deliberately staged in view of Freedom Tower.
An array of A-list invitees came in their gladrags for the special event, with Kim and Givenchy superfan Kanye rubbing shoulders with Julia Roberts and Uma Thurman - and the celebs in turn taking their seats along with 1,000 fashion fans who had won tickets to the show.
Debbie Harry took a frow seat beside Nicki Minaj, while Kendall Jenner - of course - walked in the show.
Like the majority of celebrity guests, the 75 models wore black and white. Givenchy's SS16 collection is a delicate affair, with a luxurious nightwear feel.
High drama came when not one but two models, including Super Candice Swanepoel, took a tumble on the catwalk set up by the Hudson River.
