Who says fashion with political and social issues shouldn't mix? ?? My twin @ciprianaquann and I chatted with @missoni about fashion, politics and our passion for promoting diversity within the industry. Read an excerpt below. ••• Missoni- At this time in history your work takes on a distinctly political flavor. What is your relationship with politics and particularly the political situation in the US? TK- These are tumultuous times and the fact that Trump is a serious candidate for President of the United States is incredibly disheartening. This will set us back years as a nation if this man is elected. A man that does not support diversity, stereotypes based off race and religion and does not have a genuine grip on foreign policies yet has so much support in America is frustrating, frightening and eye opening. How can one honestly support someone who exhibits such atrocious decorum and expect that he will make a change for the better? He has an ego that spins fabrications with more sensationalism than a tabloid that people either believe him or are entertained by someone who should NEVER be a spokesman for the U.S. We are entering dangerous territory when we think thwarting the entry of immigrants into this country is a valid solution when this country's backbone was built on the support and hard work of immigrants. How easy it is to forget that everyone is an immigrant, no matter your race, outside of Native Americans. Head to urbanbushbabes.com for more photos plus direct link to Missoni feature and interview.
