If, like us, you’ve dreamed of decorating your walls with a specially commissioned piece of artwork, or striking original print (but end up resorting to a cheap framed poster from the gallery gift shop), we’ve found some stylish affordable art far removed from art fair prices.
Artist Lorna May Wadsworth is unveiling an exclusive, online only ‘diffusion line’ of original (not to mention fashionable) art works from November 15 – all available to the public for £100 each.
Exhibited alongside Tracey Emin, Frank Auerbach and even Banksy, Lorna has a reputation for her portraits, having sketched Margaret Thatcher, Lily Cole and Richard Curtis. But the #100for100 collection has a fashionable twist, with beautiful pieces inspired by Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood and even Jean Paul Gaultier’s Diet Coke cans.
Lorna said she decided to create a more affordable collection because “the collector is relieved from the burden of gallery pricing tiers and empowered to simply fall in love with a piece of art”. With pieces available online now, on a first come, first served basis, we can see plenty of art and fashion lovers falling head over heels. See our favourite pieces in the gallery below.
