There’s rarely a day when we don’t find ourselves lusting after hip French labels like Isabel Marant or Sandro, or glaring with envy at a Parisian women on a street style blog.

Well now we’ve found out how Paris’ most fashion-forward fills their wardrobes with the coolest brands at a ‘bon prix’ – and it’s just arrived in the UK.

Vestiaire Collective is like a high-end, French version of ebay – a peer to peer online resale site that only sells the highest quality designer pieces from French wardrobes (think Chanel and Sandro) at more accessible prices.

The site was thought up by Parisian Sébastien Fabre in 2008, when his fashion-loving wife Virginie complained that although her wardrobe was chock-full of unworn designer clothes, there was no platform to sell them on - and thus a higher end version of a resale shopping site was born.

Every single item goes through a strict curation process in Paris by a team who have all worked at luxury fashion houses, ensuring nothing is sold unless it’s authentic, on trend and in mint condition. With no tat, and no fakes allowed, only half of the 1000 items submitted to the site every day make the cut, meaning a much more edited shopping experience (albeit a bit more competition for the must-have pieces!) and a ready-made community of shoppers, all with similar tastes.

Already garnering a huge cult following in France (with 1.2 million members and counting), the site recently launched in the UK and has just announced stylist Bay Garnett as their Style Advisor, sharing her top picks from the site with users.
