But ignore all that rubbish because it's raising loads of money for ALS, or Motor Neurone Disease as we know it in the UK, and it would be weird if you had a problem with that.
Over the past few weeks there have been some truly spectacular and utterly fabulous challenges undertaken by many a stylish celebrity, including the great Donatella Versace, who unleashed her dousing on the world this week. Naturally she was flanked by male models and in head-to-toe Versace.
Others who have taken on this rather unglamorous challenge and made it chic, include Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenburg and Tom Ford. Although of the designers our favourite has to be Victoria Beckham's drenching, as she roped in her whole family into chucking a bucket of freezing H2O on her.
The models didn't let down team fashion either, Cara Delevingne and sister Poppy took part, as did Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Suki Waterhouse and Gisele Bündchen, to name a few.
But the ultimate fashion ice bucket challenge queens have to be Anna Wintour, for being totally out of her comfort zone, and Kate Moss. Because, you know, it's Kate Moss.
