Whether long, short, full of lace or a minimalist silhouette, there is one fashion look that is hard to forget and that's a wedding dress.

From Kate Moss' 1920s inspired embellished gown by John Galliano to Elizabeth Taylor's canary yellow chiffon dress, some of the world's most famous bridal looks have been cemented in our collective memories for decades.

The illustrated chart, created by diamond retailer and website Vashi features the looks worn by the most prolific women in film, tv, music, athletics, politics and royalty from the last eight decades in alphabetical order.
