Not a month goes by without reading about another wedding costing up to $1 million – but this mindbogglingly expensive nuptial trumps all other lavish efforts.
Oxford graduate Said Gutseriev, 28, married dental student Khadija Uzhakhovs, 20, in a wedding which is rumoured to have cost $1 billion (£694,169,670). Imagine the party favours.
Clearly, this was no “bring your iPod along and we'll listen to your favourite playlist” affair. Not one, not two, but three high profile performers took to the stage at the ceremony in a luxury Moscow restaurant, with Jennifer Lopez, Sting and Enrique Iglesias performing for the newlyweds and their guests.
Rumours in the Russian media also speculated that Beyoncé and Elton John sang at the wedding, although this hasn't been confirmed yet.
The bride wore an £18,000 haute couture gown by Elie Saab, with the heavily embellished dress weighing so much (nearly two stone) that she needed help from several people just to get up and down the stairs.
Naturally, the gown, which was imported from Paris, was accompanied by a bejewelled handbag, a full veil and glittering diamond jewellery, including a necklace, tiara and drop earrings.
A fleet of Rolls-Royces was lined up for the 600 guests to travel to the venue, and of course, the walls were lined from top to bottom with fresh flowers.
Gutseriev's father, Mikhael Gutseriev, is an oligarch reportedly worth $6.2 billion (£4.3 billion), which may go some way towards explaining the enormous cost of the affair.
The nine-tier wedding cake was double the bride's height, and lavishly decorated in white and pink icing, before being topped by the star and crescent of Islam to symbolise the couple's faith.
