Johnny Depp's teenage daughter Lily-Rose has been unveiled as the new ambassador of Chanel, in a campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld.

The 16-year-old model appears in a new pearl eyewear advert for the iconic fashion house, where she plays "a baby-doll in a world imbued with sweetness and femininity".

"Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star," said Lagerfeld, of his latest muse.

Lily-Rose is no stranger to the world of Chanel - her mum Vanessa Paradis has been an ambassador for the brand since 1991, and is close friends with Lagerfeld.

"He always has the best ideas and an amazing sense of improvisation," is how Paradis describes the fashion luminary.

Lily-Rose appeared at a number of Chanel shows earlier this year and her Instagram feed contains several references to the label.

The model made her debut for Australian publication Oyster last year, aged 15. The team there described her as having "the face of an angel and a magnetic presence beyond her young years".
