The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a festive tartan check skirt, and now we want to step out in a festive tartan check skirt

What do you wear on Christmas day? Are you one of those people who spends the whole day in your most festive pyjamas only to be accessorised by tinsel and baubles strung up on your ears? Or someone who insists on wearing their most bedazzled outfits - sequins so blinding you are in fact the missing star on top of the tree? What happens if you’re somewhere in the middle?

Well, The Duchess of Cambridge just served up the perfect festive outfit that falls in the middle of both those camps, when she stepped out for a Christmas party she was hosting for military families.

Kate’s pleated midi skirt by British designer, Emilia Wickstead ticks all the Christmas boxes - festive colours, paired with a warm button-down cardigan that acts as blouse and knee-high suede boots (no tights needed, yay!) It’s like grown-up Cher Horowitz and we are here for it.
