She may be a Duchess, but Kate Middleton still has a (relatively) down-to-earth sense of style. As well as luxurious gowns by Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham and Temperley, she mixes in brands like LK Bennett, Reiss and Zara with surprising ease.
Whenever Kate wears something readily available to the masses, it usually sells out online very quickly, but we've tracked down a few similar items so you can be inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge's style for civilian prices.
Zara dress, April 2011
Despite having worn a priceless Alexander McQueen dress the day before, the newly named Duchess of Cambridge chose this £34.99 Zara dress to jet off on her honeymoon the morning after her wedding. The internet went mad for it, and we loved her all the more for keeping it real the day after she joined the Royal Family.

Reiss Orla dress, May 2011
Reiss is a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge - most famously, she wore a Reiss dress in her engagement photos - but this flattering nude dress managed to crash the site when Kate was pictured in it at a White House occasion in 2011, as fans tried to log on and get their own versions, kick starting the famous Kate Effect.

Reiss Peacock dress, June 2011
Often seen at the races, the Duchess of Cambridge has a fantastic collection of hats. But we were more interested in her dainty white dress from Reiss that she wore to visit the Epsom Downs in 2011. The dress - of course - sold out online within hours of Kate being pictured in it.

Ted Baker mac, December 2011
Kate wore this Ted Baker mac for a rather rainy airport arrival in Canada during her Royal Tour of the USA and Canada. Although it seemed to be an old favourite rather than a new season purchase, Ted Baker later announced that their sales went up nearly 15% after she was seen in the mac.

Zara dress, December 2011
This dress - which Kate wore to a charity event at the Royal Albert Hall in December 2011 - was bang on trend for the season, and at just £69, sold out instantly. This may have been because it was a more contemporary, shorter style than her usual red carpet looks - either way, it was a winner.

Orla Kiely dress, March 2012
Irish designer Orla Kiely's prints can be found absolutely everywhere, on furniture, wallpaper, and the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate has also worn Orla's patterns in the past, but we love this chic grey dress, worn for an event at the Dulwich Picture Gallery.

Topshop Peter Pan collar dress, March 2013
The Duchess wore a number of Topshop outfits during her pregnancy with Prince George. She chose this Peter Pan collared dress - unusually not from the maternity range - from the high street favourite to wear to a charity event in March 2013.

Topshop polka dot dress, April 2013
It must be hard to look this chic while pregnant - but Kate made it look easy with outfits like this polka dot Topshop dress, which she teamed with a black jacket and clutch at a tour of the Harry Potter studios. The dress sold out from the Topshop site within minutes.

LK Bennett clutch, September 2012
Kate is almost always accessorised with classy LK Bennett shoes or clutches. This nude roll clutch from LK Bennett, seen here during the Jubilee tour in the Soloman Islands, is usually only trumped by her nude woven clutch from the same shop - but the message is clear, the accessories may be expensive, but they last.

Zara necklace, December 2013
We're not sure who else would be brave enough to team a beautiful Jenny Packham dress with a £19.99 Zara necklace, but Kate pulled it off with panache at the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in December 2013. The necklace was soon snapped up by the fashion crowds.

LK Bennett dress, February 2014
Thanks to being a new mum, Kate has been seen at a lot more daytime engagements recently, but that hasn't hampered her ever-enviable wardrobe. Seen at a school art room opening, she wore her favourite high street label, LK Bennett.

Me + Em striped top April 2014
Kate chose everybody's favourite off-duty item, the Breton striped top, for her sailing race against Prince William around Auckland Harbour - which she won, by the way - during their Royal tour of Australia and New Zealand. This three-quarter length sleeved version by Me+Em was perfect for getting stuck into the sport.

Mint Velvet plimsolls, April 2014
The Royal Tour gave opportunity to see a mix of Kate's formal and day wear. She teamed this Jonathan Saunders jumper with a pair of plimsolls from relaxed luxury brand Mint Velvet. The plimsolls, from last year, are reported to be some of her favourites and she's also been out shopping in them.

Gap shirt, April 2014
Continuing with her looks from the Royal Tour, this Gap shirt was almost missed, tucked away beneath one of Kate's signature navy blazers. But the gingham pattern gave it an informal look, ideal for the relaxed Queenstown wine tasting she was attending.

Hobbs Wessex dress, April 2014
Kate reportedly bought this dress for just £35 in the 2012 Hobbs sale - just the sort of thriftiness we like to see. She wore it to visit Ayers Rock during the Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand, nailing daytime style.

LK Bennett Lasa dress, April 2014
Could Kate love LK Bennett any more? This white and blue floral dress was chosen for Prince William and Kate's arrival into Brisbane during the Royal Tour, and combined with her pinned back hair, she looked the definition of ladylike.

LK Bennett shoes, April 2014
Nude shoes are genius - they go with everything and make your legs look longer. Kate has clearly caught on to this, as she wears a pair of LK Bennett nude court shoes almost all the time. Here seen arriving Adelaide, Australia, during the Royal Tour, she literally can't put a foot wrong in them.
