On International Day of the Girl, stylist.co.uk relocated to Blenheim High School. There, a team of brilliant and opinionated girls aged 11 to 16 took over the website to have their say on the issues that matters most to them…

Here, Danielle, 16, explains why these five fashion brands are bringing you a tech-savvy experience.

Back in the good ol’ days, school work was done with pen and paper. Today, I am using a Mac to write my article about technology influencing fashion. Times have changed!

I am asking the big questions about how technology will shape the fashion industry: How will fashion be stimulated with the use of technology? What are the creative spaces and revolutionary thinkers that are using machinery fashion, to their advantage? Will robots eventually dress us?

Below are the innovative and visionary brands that are using technology to help us in the way we shop, dress and live.

Tech with a personal touch: All Blues

All Blues, a jewellery brand based in Stockholm, is using technology to take bespoke to the next level. The brand uses a new service, where you can 3D scan a personal thing you hold dear to yourself, this can even be a human! Then they turn the scan into your own piece of silver or gold jewellery. They design necklaces, keychains and paperweights.

The in-store experience: Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger are offering customers a personalised experience though their app and in-store. Receive tailored recommendations based off your previous purchases, which you can shop direct through the app. The newly refurbished store on Regent Street, has a ‘connected’ fitting room that uses smart mirrors to present different outfit choices for the customer, in real time. You can also buy an item in store and then it can be delivered directly to your home - so you no longer need to carry shopping.

Shopping though social media: Threads Styling

Threads Styling is a luxury online shop that sources those hard-to-find items so you don’t have to. Via their chat-based-media platform you can place orders, that can be sent anywhere in the world- fast.

The modern delivery service: Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is an online personal stylist that creates a personalised clothes and accessories box - this is determined by a questionnaire which works out your favourite styles and pieces. Stitch Fix uses algorithms and over 700 brand partners that help decide what goes into our box.

Tech to find a perfect fit: Levis

With the use of smart tech Levi’s have developed a body scanner that finds your perfect fit jeans, in 10 seconds! The scanner measures 200,000 points of space to take your measurements for your ultimate jeans, creating the hugely desirable ‘perfect fit’.
