What you choose to wear says something about you – it’s how you express your individuality and personality. New Look's ‘My Life, My Style, My Look’ campaign celebrates creating your own unique style through fashion wherever you are, whoever you are. Here we speak to Kavita Sodha to see how her life as a stylist and fashion blogger informs her sartorial choices.
My job as a stylist and blogger keeps me busy as there are always events to attend or new collections to preview. The rest of my time is spent creating content for my blog – whether that’s arranging small shoots where I try new fashion styles or test beauty products, or writing up copy. I often shoot in Kensington, where I live. I love the area, so when I’m done for the day you’ll find me there eating out or having drinks.
My style is chic but a little rough around the edges. Most importantly I like to be comfortable in what I’m wearing. My outfit is often monochromatic but with a pop of colour to break it up a little bit, whether it’s a red lip or bright pair of shoes. New Look is perfect for the latest trends I can style my way.
I’m obsessed with gingham at the moment. It’s got a really cool feel about it. A loose-fitting T-shirt brings it down to street level, so I’d wear this out and about on a nice day - maybe even to a business meeting. I don’t always have time to go home between working and socialising so I love transitional pieces that take you from day to night – a mid–length skirt is easy to dress up with heels.
