The 90s revival has been done. The high street is so awash with tattoo chokers, slip dresses and high-neck rib tops that a wander into New Look today can leave people born in the 80s short of breath and panicky.

For these people – and we are they – know what’s coming next. We remember. We don’t have the excuse that our parents picked our wardrobes. We, of sound mind, actively chose to confront the new millennium in patchwork denim, tops with one long sleeve and various shades of combat-wear in a heroically failed attempt to look like a member of All Saints. We know what it’s like to embrace scarf crop tops, bakerboy caps, long denim coats and lace-up jeans so low-slung that sitting down or bending over or moving in any way was a total no-go.

Now one of the least stylish decades known to man is being dragged back into the light by the fashion powers that be: the noughties, with an abbreviation as unpalatable as the fashion sense.

Thanks to Zara it’s now possible to quickly and easily get your hands on (drum roll) a corset bag.
