We know what you’ll be wearing this summer – meet the latest limited edition line from the cult British brand, Rixo.
For the past few summers, it feels like there hasn’t been a wedding anywhere in the country without at least one Rixo (or Rixo-inspired) dress in attendance. The printed dresses, with their modern bohemian look, have become synonymous with contemporary occasionwear and inspired racks of high street designs.
The brainchild of best friends Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey (they met while studying at the London College of Fashion), Rixo was born out of the realisation that there was a gap in the market for vintage-inspired pieces.
These pieces were different from true vintage, though, because they were made to fit modern women’s bodies, nor did they require a long hunt and a lucky break at the local charity shop.
Since its launch in 2015, Rixo has dominated Instagram feeds and wishlists.
Now, for the first time this season, the company is releasing a limited edition more affordable eight-piece collection made from lightweight, breathable silk-cotton.
Designer Henrietta Rix explains: “We wanted to introduce some cotton and silk pieces into our range as we knew they’d be perfect for summer. We always want to make sure our customers get true value for money when they buy RIXO and with these pieces not being 100% silk like some of our other styles, naturally the price is lower.”
Stylist’s favourites from the Rixo collection
Rixo’s puff-sleeve, button down floral dress is everything you’ve been looking for this summer; it’s the ultimate piece for instant chic whatever event you are dressing for.
And Henrietta’s favourite piece is the Christy dress too:“It’s the perfect transitional dress to go from day to night in. Style her with trainers and our Nelly bag for the day and swap out for a pair of strappy heels for an evening look.”
If your wardrobe is already bursting with dresses, take on the hand-painted daisy print top.
Dress it up with a loose fitting printed midi skirt and statement accessories, or for a low-key look, wear it with straight-leg white jeans and simple leather slides. Thanks to the smart design, if the blouson sleeves aren’t your style they can easily be taken down to sit off the shoulder, too.
Designer Orlagh McCloskey agrees, saying: “The Sasha dress in Mint Heart is so gorgeous for summer! Wear with mules and Leti necklace for the office or take it on holiday with you and pair with some sandals. Finish your look with our Betty bag.”
