Is there anything that Sarah Jessica Parker can’t do?
The talented actress recently announced that she’s launching a new line of fiction books, and fans of the real-life Carrie Bradshaw will know that she’s already put her name to several successful perfume, shoe, and LBD collections.
Now SJP has added yet another string to her bow; she’s only gone and designed her own jewellery collection.
That’s right, she’s joined forces with London fine-jeweller Kat Florence to design the Flawless Diamonds Collection.
Speaking about the design process with Vogue, Parker said: “There is so much that goes into jewellery.
“It is so personal. As an actor I have to remove all of my jewellery in order to take on the characters I play. I get to a trailer for work every day and I have to take off my jewellery to play a character, to be someone else.”
She added: “To me, jewellery is a very special choice.”
The collection, which is already available online, is described on the Kat Florence site as “an exceptional collection of matchless, one-in-a-million flawless diamonds, illuminating bold, brave and exciting pieces with timeless appeal”.
It has been split into four different ‘chapters’ of sparkly fun – Pavé Hews, Heritage, Opulence, and Symmetry – each focusing on a different style and decade of jewellery design.
All, however, have one thing in common; they use only D-grade, flawless diamonds, sourced from Botswana.
Both Parker and Florence have made a point of including only 100 designs, releasing just a handful of each to the public at a time. In this way, they hope to keep them feeling unique and individual – as opposed to mass-produced and commonplace.
However, as you may have guessed, the collection has been fixed with an eye-watering SJP price tag: they start at £1,300, and we don’t even want to think about what they go up to.
Parker wasn’t originally going to be part of the design process at all.
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Florence – who founded the London Mayfair brand in 2014 – said: “Our initial conversation was about her being the face of our brand.
“[But] we decided it would be better if we went into sponsored_longform and make the face of the brand actually part of the company.”
