It all started (as usual) on Gucci’s spring summer 2018 runway when Alessandro Michele showed a millennial pink suit. Cue a string of Gen Y and Z influencers – Harry Styles and Solange included – bagging a version of their own and ’gramming themselves in it.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for the highstreet to (sorry) follow suit, and they quickly began churning out a host of pink styles. Indeed, the fashion platform Lyst says that searches on its site have increased 69% over the last three months, with searches for pink trousers up 32%. Light pink has also been the most viewed pastel shade on the site in 2018. And now, with Beyoncé choosing to rock a pink suit in the debut music video “Apes**t” (the version she chose is from London the London based design duo Peter Pilotto), it’s clear that the penchant for pink suits is showing no signs of slowing down.
