An Israeli milliner has created a series of mouth-watering headpieces that look good enough to eat.
Maor Zabar's creations give a whole new, more literal meaning to the phrase "I'll eat my hat", as they bring food and fashion together via intricately crafted (and amazingly life-like) fried eggs, salad, pies and more.
The Tel Aviv-based artist came up with the idea after he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2012. He was advised to avoid certain foods that could trigger symptoms of the illness, so he turned to hat design to channel his cravings.
"I'm a costume designer and get my inspiration from history, culture, fashion as well as from everyday things that I see around me," says Zabar. "The food hats were created when I discovered I had Crohn's disease and I was on a diet where I could barely eat anything."
One of his designs is decorated with a colourful mix of rolls and a salmon nigiri, with chopsticks and a splash of wasabi as the final flourish.
His other pieces include an appetising raspberry pie that trickles down the forehead and a healthy salad full of the raw vegetables - as well as eggs and mushrooms being fried in a pan.
The designer has hopes to expand his work as a costume designer in operas and the theatre outside of Israel.
"Millinery is not a common profession in Israel and most people here don't wear hats or spend a lot of money on hats," he says.
