It's a universal problem - you look brilliant in your high heels when you leave your home, but within an hour or two you're crying with pain and can't wait to kick them off.
Since the invention of heels in the 16th Century, when Elizabeth I became the first woman to be painted wearing the new invention, women have struggled with the painful rubbing, sore soles and irritating blisters that come with heeled shoes.
But one shoe expert is here to save the day.
Author of Shoe Are You? Meghan Cleary claims there's one simple trick to solving the problem and the best part is it doesn't involve insoles or plasters and costs absolutely nothing.
Cleary suggests running your feet under cold water (even if it's a sink in the bathroom), putting a little hand lotion on your feet while they're a little damp, then putting your stilettos back on.
"I personally have gotten another four hours out of a pair doing this mid-event," she said to fashion website Who What Wear. Just make sure you put your feet back in your shoes damp, not completely wet.
It works because the lotion seals in the moisture of the cold water and lubricates against any sore spots.
