She’s the Spice Girl-turned fashion designer who everyone underestimated. Victoria Beckham has proven herself time and time again, as a designer worth reckoning with.
And now, she’s announced a new collaboration – with US retailer Target.
The collection, which will be limited-edition, will take inspiration from her diffusion line Victoria, Victoria Beckham, and will include over 200 ready-to-wear womenswear pieces and accessories.
It will also be the designer’s first time designing childrenswear - which will be included in the collection.
Beckham’s collection will follow on from other Target collaborations, including ones from Jean Paul Gaultier, Stella McCartney and Rodarte.
Speaking to the Business of Fashion, Beckham said that for a long time she’d wanted to create clothes for fans who couldn’t reach the high prices of her eponymous collection, saying:
“I can reach so many more women through working with Target. It’s not just because of the price point but because of how many stores that they have, located all around America.
“These are women that I haven't been able to reach out to in the past, and I always say that I want to empower women and make women look like the best versions of themselves. That shouldn't be only people who can afford to spend a certain amount of money.”
The designer also hinted that childrenswear is something she might want to focus more on in the future.
The collection will launch in stores and online April 9 2017, and will be available until April 30 – or when it sells out.
